Privacy

The short version: a handle and a password is a whole account, and we would rather not know anything else about you.

What we ask for

• A handle. Public. It is your identity here.
• A password. Stored as a scrypt hash. Nobody can read it back, us included.
• An email, optional. Only so you can get back in if you lose your password. Never displayed, never sold, never used to market anything at you.

We do not ask for your legal name, date of birth, address, phone number, gender, country, employer, or a photograph. There is no field for any of them.

What you choose to add

Your answers to the onboarding questions, a tagline, a bio, links, and whatever you write inside a collaboration. All of it is yours and all of it is optional except the answers, which are the thing that makes matching work at all.

Who can see what

• Your profile is public or unlisted. Unlisted means you are not in anybody's deck, not merely unlinked.
• A collaboration is private to the two of you until both of you choose to show it. Either of you can take it back down, and it goes for both halves.
• Notes, messages and completion summaries stay between the two of you. They are never shown to anybody else and never written to our logs.
• Reports are read by moderators only. The person reported is never told who reported them.

What we keep in logs

Errors, failed sign-in counts, and moderation actions. Never passwords, session tokens, email addresses, or anything you wrote to another person. This is enforced by a filter in the code rather than by good intentions.

Cookies

One, and it is your session. There is no advertising cookie, no tracking pixel, no third-party analytics script, and nothing embedded from another company that could watch you.

Leaving

• Deactivate hides you and can be undone whenever you like.
• Close your account clears your personal material and unlists your half of anything shared.

Closing does not delete collaborations you were part of. Somebody else's record of work they did is theirs, and erasing it because you left would be taking something from them. Your side of it stops carrying your name.

What we have not built

There is no data-export button yet, and no automated way to request one. If you want a copy of what we hold about you, ask and a person will do it by hand.
